The Vinschgau/Val Venosta railway

12-20 August 2023 –Venosta/Vinschgau valley: train services on weekends and on 15 August

The electrification of the railway line serving the Venosta/Vinschgau valley is in full swing

Since 5 June, the works to erect some 1,500 masts have been progressing steadily, and the tunnel retrofitting works between Merano/Meran and Tel/Töll are also advancing at full speed. As a result, rail traffic is currently restricted on the entire railway line between Merano/Meran and Malles/Mals – with one small exception in August.

Train services between 12 and 20 August 2023

On 12, 13, 15, 19 and 20 August 2023, the weekend suspension will be lifted: There will be trains running between Tel/Töll and Malles/Mals during the day, with the last service leaving Tel/Töll at 20:00 and arriving in Malles/Mals at 20:55. In the other direction, the last service will depart from Malles/Mals at 19:20 and arrive in Tel/Töll at 20:25. The last three train services to Malles/Mals and the last two train services to Tel/Töll, on the other hand, will remain suspended. There will be replacement buses (B250) instead.

Departures from 05 June 2023

Merano/Meran–Tel/Töll:

The tracks between Merano/Meran and Tel/Töll will remain closed entirely until autumn. There will be replacement bus services. Please note that it is not possible to carry bikes on replacement buses. If you’re travelling with a bicycle, click here to read more about our separate bike transport shuttle service.
