This year, approximately 6,113 passengers will benefit from the commuter bonus, which is granted as compensation for disruptions in regional rail services during 2024. The total value of the bonus amounts to €490,525.79.
How does it work?
In the Province of Bolzano, the bonus is regulated by the service agreements with the railway operators Trenitalia and SAD.
In cases of frequent delays or train cancellations, contractual penalties are applied. These penalties are then redistributed by the Provincial Department of Mobility to the affected commuters in the form of a credit.
Who is entitled to the commuter bonus?
Commuters who regularly travelled on Trenitalia and SAD regional trains during 2024 and validated at least 30 journeys per month using a Südtirol Pass or Euregio Family Pass will receive the bonus on 14 May 2026.
The amount will either be added to the remaining balance (for prepaid cards) or deducted as a credit from the next südtirolmobil Pass invoice.
