Two passengers at the bus station

Maintenance work: Renon/Ritten cable-car and Mendola/Mendel funicular

Buses: some school-run bus services suspended – all timetable updates available online

This autumn, the Renon/Ritten cable-car and the Mendola/Mendel funicular will remain temporarily closed whilst the legally required regular maintenance and inspection works are being carried out. In addition, school-run services on some bus routes will be cancelled between 9 and 22 November 2020. The exact end date of these timetable changes will be confirmed at a later stage, taking into account how the situation develops.

The Renon/Ritten cable-car will be out of service from Monday 9 to all of Saturday 21 November 2020. With services running hourly on an almost non-stop basis between Soprabolzano/Oberbozen and the valley station of the cable-car in Bolzano/Bozen, the no. 161 replacement bus service will call at all extra-urban bus stops along the route.

Please note that the following services are only available on working days:
•    11:04 from Soprabolzano/Oberbozen
•    10.26 from the cable-car valley station in Bolzano/Bozen

During the period of maintenance work, the Renon/Ritten light railway will operate on a reduced timetable.

The Mendola/Mendel funicular will be out of service for maintenance and inspection works from Monday 16 November to all of Saturday 19 December 2020. The following replacement bus services are available to commuters on working days except Saturdays:
•    departure: Passo della Mendola/Mendelpass at 6:44, arrival: Caldaro/Kaltern (Piazza Rottenburg/Rottenburger Platz) at 7:14
•    departure: Caldaro/Kaltern (Piazza Rottenburg/Rottenburger Platz) at 17:49, arrival: Passo della Mendola/Mendelpass at 18:19

Buses: some school-run services will be suspended, others will be adjusted where necessary

Because many schools have moved their classes online due to coronavirus, some SASA bus services and some regional bus services will be suspended from Monday 9 November until 22 November. This affects mainly bus journeys used predominantly by secondary school students. The exact end date of these timetable changes will be confirmed at a later stage taking into account how the situation develops.

All remaining public transport services will run as normal until further notice. School-run services for primary and middle schools (i.e. lower secondary schools) will be assessed on a continuous basis and adjusted as necessary. This is to ensure that all means of public transport are occupied to a maximum of 50% only, as is currently permitted.

Please note that in view of such short-notice changes, we cannot continuously update the printed timetables at all bus stops. Our online timetables however are updated on an ongoing basis: Stay up to speed by accessing them live and online – either on our website or through the app.
